TAMBOPATA MACAW CLAY LICK 5 DAYS / 4 NIGHTS

DAY 1:
Arrival to Puerto Maldonado and the Lodge . Morning flight from Lima or Cusco to Puerto Maldonado (not included air tickets) and transfer from the airport to the river port. Departure to the Macaw lick by motorized dugout canoe, during this trip you see the changes from colonized deforested land to primary rain forest.
Upon arrival to the our first camp-site, in the afternoon a short hike for wildlife observation. Overnight at the camp-site. Lunch and Dinner.

DAY 2:
An early morning start up the Tambopata River by motorized dugout canoe to a remote campsite called "Collpa de Guacamayos" (Macaw lick). After establishing camp we explore the area. There is an optional night-excursion to look for Caiman.

DAY 3:
Before breakfast at the first light we make a short walk to the Collpa (Lick, the largest known Macaw Lick in the world where on a normal day hundreds of Macaws and other parrots come in the morning for the salty clay. This is one of the greatest wildlife spectacles in the world. After breakfast we departure to the lodge.

DAY 4:
After breakfast a full day of exploration of the surrounding rain forest. This includes a jungle walk, as well as through lush high and low forest.

DAY 5:
An early pre-dawn breakfast to appreciate sunrise on the river before arriving to Puerto Maldonado where we are met for a transfer to the airport for your flight out (not included).
